Introducing the Island Hopper Shuttle Service at Alameda Point

Dear Alameda Point Residents, Employees, and Visitors,

The Alameda TMA and City of Alameda are thrilled to announce the launch of a new shuttle service, the Island Hopper, a 10-week pilot service connecting people to and around Alameda Point!

Service Details:

When: Summer 2024 (launch date & route specifications coming soon)

Schedule: Weekends only, from 12:00PM to 7:30PM, for 10 weeks

Accessibility: ADA accessible and equipped to accommodate bikes

Capacity: Holds up to 21 passengers

Real-Time ETA: Access to real-time ETAs

The Island Hopper is designed to:

Connect people to and around Alameda Point efficiently (and enjoyably!) by providing a fast and reliable transportation option

Reduce car traffic and promote sustainable travel

Foster community connection and support local businesses

Shuttle Route: The Island Hopper will circulate within Alameda Point, stopping at residential communities and businesses. It will also connect to key locations such as Alameda Landing, the Oakland Alameda Water Shuttle (at the foot of 5th Street near Target), and the Main Street Ferry Terminal.

This service is the result of a collaborative effort between the Alameda Transportation Management Association (ATMA) and the City of Alameda. We believe this initiative will significantly benefit our community by providing a fast and convenient transportation option, and fostering local economic growth.

We wanted to share this news with you first, ahead of the official public announcement at the Alameda 4th of July Parade. Your support and participation are vital to the success of this program. Stay tuned for more information to come!

All the best, The Alameda TMA
